It is our goal to serve all persons living with and fighting ALS and their families in Nevada, one patient at a time. We work extensively to provide much-needed programs that offer emotional, physical and financial assistance. We are a 501 c (3) organization and as such we depend upon the generosity of individuals, businesses and corporations who provide tax-deductible contributions so that we may fulfill this mission and meet the needs of Nevada ALS patients.

  ALS of Nevada is an independent not-for-profit organization serving ALS patients from throughout Nevada.We support, encourage, hold hands, pray, offer guidance, answers and whatever else it takes to see a person who has ALS, and his/her family through the various experiences of living with it. We supply patient aid devices for the varying stages of ALS. We can help you find people who've been through ALS to share with. We offer in-home visits and counseling with family members. We coordinate support group meetings in Northern and Southern Nevada. We actively raise funds in your community to continue our non-profit services.

  Being a caregiver for a person with als can be a full time job. Yet many caregivers today already have full time jobs and are juggling multiple sets of responsibilites can be challenging. In 1993, an important piece of legislation was signed to help caregivers balance their dual responsibilities. The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides eligible employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave each year with job and health benefits protected. Under FMLA, a caregiver for someone with MS (or ALS) can take off 1 day a week without worrying that his or her job is in jeopardy.
